"The Blind Side" is a great movie -- very inspirational. But people are walking away with different messages. What about you?

I thought it showed a very wonderful person (family) that opened up their hearts, home and life to a person who didn't have that much. They did it against the advice and wishes of their friends and weren't swayed by them. Would I do it? I am not sure, and I am very sorry to say that I would probably be too scared to take in any "stranger" even if he or she was a young teen. The Blind Side taught me that there are still some decent human beings on the face of this earth!
This movie is now out on DVD. Having read your review I'm going to check it out. Any movie that works to restore faith in humanity should be a good film.
I agree that I would be very scared to bring anyone into my home--even a teen. Of course, the other day I let some people in a band stay at my house because they had no where to go that night. I worried about it right before I fell asleep, but it turned out fine.
It is sad, but you have to be even careful with helping folks when you see a need. Today it seems it is all about "getting over" and when innocent folks need help, we cannot get any.

Great subject Tricia smile
The Blind Side is in evidence of truly how blind our efforts can be to take a risk, but doing so anyhow in hopes that we can make a difference. In this case, it was productive. In courage and risk of the truth, it might not always be but what a difference a risk makes to help a fellow human being when it does have a hope for change.
