Doe anyone use Twitter to build their business? I'm just beginning on this journey but it's lots of fun.

I've read that companies actually scan Twitter to look for complaints, etc about themselves. One way to get action.

I am following some great network marketers on Twitter too, Like Ed dale of the 30 day challenge.

If anybody else is on Twitter, post your link here so we can be in it together. Here's My Twitter Link

Way cool Joan! I just followed you ::grin::

I've been with twitter only a week or so. It's fun. In fact, I'm really having a good time using LinkedIn and Facebook too.

Here's my twitter page...

I just have to remember throughout the day to put something on there.

Jilly, your blog was funny! I'm getting into twitter... but I must admit - I love my myspace.

I've also been getting into blogspot - but still figuring that one out. None are as simple as twitter though!

I'm following you both now!

Deanna what do you like best about MySpace?
Posted By: Lisa LowCarb Re: Twitter Anyone? - 08/11/08 09:26 PM
I like twitter because it is super quick and easy. One line, no logging in, no fuss. The browser just sits on the side of my screen and I type in a line every few hours to say what I'm doing.

This is a great way to get to know people off the forums!

I've been studying the way Ed Dale and some others use Twitter for marketing and it's really a great tool.

I imagine for all of you who are Bella editors, it's a good way to keep your new stuff out there for the followers.

Warren Whitlock has a Twitter handbook that's free to sign up for if anybody would like to get it. I haven't looked it over yet.

Twitter has been really working well for my business and is just plain ole' fun. It really has the shortest learning curve of any of the social networking options out here.

The best thing I did was add Twitterrific to my desktop - which basically allows you to write and receive tweets without having to use your browser. Twitterrific is specifically for Mac users, but I'm sure there are tons of PC options out there.

As soon as you write an article, post to your blog, or watch a cool TV show - you can post it to twitter and all your friends will instantly see what you're up to.

Thanks for the tip. I found a FoxFire add on called Twit Bin that seems to work the same.

I have TweetDeck which allows category sorting, but find i just prefer to go right to the site and leave a tab open.

Ladies, after looking at your twitter sites, I just have to get in on this twitter party (I may be a little late, though. I'm still trying to put the finishing touch on my website).

I'm getting fed up with my Twitter! I use Twhirl for it - and I keep reinstalling it but can't get it to accept tweets any more!
Posted By: Lisa LowCarb Re: Twitter Anyone? - 01/31/09 02:27 AM
I just bookmark the Twitter homepage and visit a few times a day. That way I can see what people are up to and add in my own update. I do enjoy it! I also have Twitter auto-update Facebook for me so that stays in sync.

I tried to get MySpace to do that too but it keeps choking ...
Posted By: BellaShorts Re: Twitter Anyone? - 01/31/09 08:23 AM
update - i now use tweetdeck - which is brilliant - back twittering again as InspiredWriting!

I have a twitter question...I'm assuming that to follow people, I click on the "add" next to "following". It brings up my gmail email address and asks for a password. Am I supposed to use the password that I use to log into my gmail account? Do I have to do that in order to follow people (or be or be followed)?
Posted By: Lisa LowCarb Re: Twitter Anyone? - 02/21/09 06:52 PM
Dianne - by default it wants to "easy add" people just by searching your email system and showing you matches it knows about. When you get to that page, use the "find on Twitter" tab instead. That lets you search on Twitter itself for people.
Posted By: Lisa LowCarb Re: Twitter Anyone? - 02/21/09 06:53 PM
I set up separate Twitter feeds for my separate interests - that way people who JUST want to hear about low carb recipes and products for example can just subscribe to that specific feed!

I also set one up for my video / console / computer gaming tips

Apparently, if Yahoo can't actually buy Twitter...then it aims to be more like it! Yahoo is adding lots more update functionality to its different services. Personally, I can't see it competing very well - I've been on Twitter too long to change now and have got into the habit - I've even put it on the home page of my Freelance Writing Business Website

I am on twitter also. I don't think Yahoo can compete. I am also on facebook..but with family and friends.

do you really get traffic from Twitter?
Posted By: joanj Re: Twitter Anyone? - 10/26/09 02:45 PM
I get a little bit but lately I just haven't had much time to keep up with Twitter. Social media is supposed to be "fun" but it's really time consuming! I just don't find time for all of it anymore.
