When I was a teenager, we received a Ouija board for Christmas. All my friends couldn't wait to use the thing at my house because we lived in a funeral home. I was unsure about it so I sat it out while they ask and ask questions about boyfriends and dates etc. Well, the thing just went blank, it just wouldn't work..Everyone was disappointed. Well, a year or so later everyone wanted to try again, but at another girls house. This time I tried it also. It was answering this question and that question and it seemed to know the correct answers. I got a "bright idea", and I ask it who it was..It answered "Beelzebub" (The Devil)!! Freaked me out...!! So I tried to burn it in our trash burner..I hadn't even lit a match yet, when it burst into flames..!!!..So needless to say, that was my last encounter with Ouija..I would suggest Don't do it..!!
And Yes, It's Very real..!!!

Oh my, I am not the only one to see these burst into flames on their own. My cousin, who writes here at BellaOnline too (Jeanette from the Buddhism and DV sites), and a few of our friends had a slumber party and of course they have to have an Ouija board at those when you are a teen. The girl's house we were out was an old farmhouse set off the road. We were all upstairs taking turns, asking nothing really serious, one girl finally popped up and asked when she was going to die. Whatever was talking to us said tonight and we all gasped. We asked how and it said broken. We all kind of dismissed it and put the board aside. Well alittle while later the girl went to go downstairs. When she got to the top of the staircase she yelled and at the same time the Ouija board burst into flames. She fell about half way down the staircase and stopped herself. She was ok but the board was a pile of ashes....

They say those boards open a portal to hell. Also, that spirits can cling to you for the rest of your life sometimes. A person will have miserable luck forever..Teenagers aren't aware of such things..
I couldn't understand why the thing wouldn't work at the funeral home..My Dad said that there aren't any spirits (Good or Bad) in a funeral home..They have gone on to a better place..He might have just said that to keep me from completely freaking out..but I believed him..BUT we did have some odd things go on there..Voices, shadows, thumping & bumping etc..I had a really brave Mom. She was the one to go investigate..She was a brave one..!! Anyway, I avoid Ouija boards.. eek

Yes as Jaide said, the thing burst into flames when the girl fell down the stairs. I often wondered why people thing the thing was evil. I don't think the board itself is evil, I thing what you conjure while using it can be evil. YOu don't need a $15 toy to help conjure evil.

Do you think that teenage girls, had evil intentions or were they just "goofing" around..??? I think "Evil" or whatever you want to call it, knows when people are vulnerable. (Especially innocent kids)..
You were at the slumber party..huh??? Did you freak out..?? I know I sure did when that board burst into flames, right in my hands.. It's a memory I'll NEVER forget..Totally freaky!!! eek

I think most teenagers play with an ouija board out of curiosity and goofing around. Jaide and I grew up together. She has some brothers and I have 2 little brothers so she is more like a sister then a cousin. I freaked out, I wanted to go home, I lived close enough we could have walked home but I was so freaked out I didn't darn try to walk the 2 miles home in the dark! We all went downstairs after that and stayed up til the sun came up. I think there were about 6 of us girls. The mom of the girl where we were staying drove us all home around 8 am. Jaide stayed with me that night cause she was so scared after it. LOL

When I was a kid, we had slumber parties at my friends great-great Aunts "Haunted house". The house was about 100 yrs old and really creepy.. The girls would play "Rise Table Rise" and they would tell ghost stories..I swear, from the minute I hit the door, I was covered in "Goose Bumps"..They had to make a homemade Ouija board (cause The other one was fried)..It told them all kinds of junk..I stayed away from the activity..No more for me thank you..Of course someone would scratch on the windows and send everyone screaming into the living room..It was totally terrifying..The old lady that lived there said she wouldn't dare to go to sleep at night because of the "spirits" gliding around her house.. How Creepy..I wanted to run home..but I didn't want to let anybody know that I was a "Chicken".
You and Jaide were lucky to have each other..How old were you girls when this happened?? Did you ever have anymore experiences ??..

As a clairvoyant medium, i would NEVER touch a ouija board and i tell anyone who asks me, about "playing" with one, don't do it.

You can invite low spirits into your home, with not good intentions, and then when they don't want to leave you'll be looking for the Holy Water and salt, sage to cleanse your home, etc.

I also would never mess with a ouija board,

i remember years ago when we were young my sister was obsessed with this thing....she used to hide in her room and use it...if anyone came in and intterupted she would just look up witht his evil look and say get out...scared me...eventualy dad tossed it and had the house blessed by a priest...

I have given talks on ghosts and hauntings. One thing I tell people is that I will NEVER suggest using a Ouija board....then I tell them why...You don't know what you're doing - you do not know what kind of doorway or gate you are opening.

People who "want" or "need" to reach people on the other side are so vulnerable....

AND...I do not think they should be sold in the toy department at Wal-Mart or K-Mart....

I've always believed that people have latent psychic abilities, some are just able to tap into them for one reason or another; just like some people have a talent for music or art, etc.

Ouija boards scare me, because I belive, for some reason, they allow people access to those abilities that they have no control over. Kind of like giving car keys to a 5 yr old and saying "ok - go!"

I don't know why a piece of cardboard should be able to do this; maybe because the person really believes in it in the subconcious part of their mind (which is the really powerful part anyway).

But it is definitely more than just a "toy".

To start whoever came up with the idea of selling Ouija boards to the general public should be shot. You should never go to the board unbalanced (even number of males to females) or with any form of negative emotion. It opens a channel in yourself to talk to things around you that have been long forgotten about not just ghosts. Many of these entities are upset at being ignored for such a period of time that they will act up. Also a proper cleansing should be done on the board... all individuals at the board... and the location that the board is being used at both before and after. There are many forms of sensory communications out there other then the board but none as easy to use as the board and that is the problem. Everyone is born with a collective conscious even though few are aware of it. It's the reason that you get a strange feeling about the person down the street. Also the reason some people are able to walk threw a crowded sidewalk or hall with their nose stuffed in a book but never bump into a single individual. I have used the boards before but only with my grandfather who knew how to properly use the board. Unfortunately the same effect can be achieved with a empty glass and drawing the alphabet in a circle on the ground...

Although, probably, the people that know this - would also know the other precautions to take as well.

Most likely... just with more people who knew the precautions would actually take them.

I do not mess with the board! It's a NO NO NO NO NO NO in my opinion ;0)

I messed with one as a teenager back stage at a musical and had a horrible experience.

I have always had some psychic abilities and this use of the board brought out more powerful ones that I never should have been exposed to without some help. I ended up in the hospital along with the other person who was using the board with me. I shoudl have known not to do it when the previous week we had done a seance (sp) during dress rehersal and some scary stuff happen.

This should never have been sold as a toy and should not be sold as one now.

Yeah I didnt realize they still sold the board in stores untill I went to walmart the other day and went down the toy isle just to get away from the crowd of people trying to run me down and I thought I would see what kind of games they had and started to get this panic feeling and I looked up and say the board right there at eye level! I couldnt believe it!!! right here in the middle of the bible belt where you cant get a book on wicca, pagan or buddha you can get a board to contact spirits or whatever is out there in the toy isle! GREAT!!! so now we will have all this kids playing with the board like a toy and they wonder why kids go nuts? mmmm.......... Gee I wonder why!!!

I used a Ouija Board a lot when I was younger and had some pretty crazy experiences with it. I certainly wouldn't consider it to be a toy nor would I recommend it.

I'm not advising that people go out and buy a Ouija board, but I do want to share my experience which is from the opposite spectrum of what has been posted so far.

I bought a Ouija board after reading one of the Seth books by Jane Roberts. If you aren't familiar with her, she is a very well-respected channeler from the 60s. The entity she channeled, Seth, was wise, funny and brilliant. I wanted to channel and receive such wonderful guidance for my own life. Jane first got in touch with Seth via the Ouija board, so I figured that would be the best way for me to start.

From the start, I always set my intention that I only wanted to reach a spiritual guide of the light for my highest good. At first the board just moved in jibberish. After a few tries, it began to spell out words. The spirits I first spoke to just seemed to be dead people, not spiritually advanced and not connected to me. For some reason, I kept trying and one day I got a spirit who said she was from my boyfriend's soul group. She loved him very much and had very good advice on a work situation he was having difficulty with.

She introduced me to another spirit who said he was from my soul group. He had wonderful advice and insight into my life. He told me that I had to learn to meditate and build up my energetic "muscles", that using the Ouija board was like me picking up a 100 pound weight with my skinny arms.

At that time I was pretty impatient to practice meditation. I refused and they told me that we wouldn't be able to communicate anymore unless I started meditating. After that when I tried to use the board, nothing would happen. I felt so sad to lose the connection so I finally started meditating. After meditating regularly for awhile, one day I just started channeling.

I guess the conclusion to my long story is that the Ouija board is a tool to open the psychic channel. We are all energy and whatever we vibrate to we will attract. Because most of us are not aware of what we're carrying around energetically, especially fear, it's best not to use the Ouija board. We can develop the ability to connect psychically the safe and natural way - through meditation and spiritual development.

thanks Tianna, I have used a Spirit Board for years--a colorful Ouija Board--and never had any problems. And I know what demonic activity is, I have had personal experiences with evil since childhood. The key is putting yourself in the right place and yes it is a much deeper place than is served by marketing it as a child's game. I find I have to meditate and almost let myself trance out for anything coherent to come thru. And do not underestimate the power---including kinetic power--of your own mind, you have to approach it with clear intent or it will tell you what you want to hear whether it is the truth or not. If you approach it with fear, even on a subconscious level you will get what you bring to it.
I find the concept of using a talking board to be very much like the idea of Law of Attraction. You have to be careful how you form thoughts and what is behind them when you approach it. The most useful and positive experiences I have had with it are when I go into it not even expecting or worrying if something negative will cross my path--I do not even let it enter my mind, not even as a doubt. If I can't do that then I am prepared for anything or I put it away for later when I can. It takes alot of discipline.

Several years ago, my Aunt gave one to my daughter for Christmas. She had no clue what it was, so I used the occasion as a "Teaching Moment." (sorry, that phrase has been on TV a lot lately.) Upon returning home, we had quite a long conversation about Ouija Boards, and other things associated. My friend had one in High School which we thankfully didn't use. She kept it under her bed and it began to move on it's on at night. She immediately threw it away.

After our talk, my daughter made the decision not to play with it and we also threw it away. I certainly don't begrudge my Aunt the gift. She was just clueless.

hi this is my first post here: l agree with clairvoyantmedium,
this is my own insight of ouija board.

It is not a game or a party trick for linking to spirit. I know people who would use ouija boards again and again but its like opening your front door and letting any one in good or bad. I believe confused, troubled individuals in the quantum realm are often obsessed with the physical world, and they shun the spirit worlds. They are attracted to the spiritual light or energies of living humans, and if they remain close to a person on Earth, that person experiences the confusion and troubled emotions in their own life. This is a situation often called "spirit attachment." If the ouija board is used in the area that the deeply troubled souls, can sense where a budding medium or psychic, will send a vibration of energy of light, thus opening a path for the troubled souls come forth and cause problems. Today there are many deeply troubled souls in the quantum realms struggling to remain attached to the Earth, and they sometimes become entangled in the lives of unsuspecting people here. That causes a serious disruption in many peoples lives.

Try to keep an open mind on this subject and all others too. I would like to point out there is lots of evidence to back up this claim of journey to the realms of Spirit world. Without the proper training you have to rethink this option.

One experience regarding the ouija board was found in a reading I once carried out which was in my usual circle. I had passed a personal message, then as l blended with spirit, l did see and felt something I did not like which looked like a black shadow, a kind of negative feeling. I asked her if l could speak to her later, which my helpers relayed the impression; she had been using an ouija board and to confirm if she had been using such a board. She told me she was with two other mediums when she tried it. Later she sent me an email thanking me for my help: I just wanted to tell you thank you for the other day when you were telling me about protection and ouija boards. It meant a lot to me that you cared enough to explain those things to me and such.
My reply is that there are many factors to be considered when using ouija boards: Has the medium had the proper training to use such a board? Are their guides strong or are they new in protecting their medium? Did anyone drink alcohol before they sat, without realising what they were doing? Were all of them feeling well in themselves?
If you have achieved a spiritual level where you link to the highest level of Spirit communication when the conditions are right, to have someone who can be in control, then you could possibly use such a board. My advice is still the same, to leave well alone when in doubt or you do not have such protection or the right training.

god bless skydancing

Back in high school, my friends and I used a Ouija board. Yikes, it was a very frightening experience, sending one guy literally running home!

I wouldn't recommend using one...

I have to agree with Shay - if you don;t know what you are doing - please stay away from these things.

I cannot believe that I see them in the toy and game department of some of these stores. They are not toys and it definitely is not a game.
