If anyone can please help out, I would appreciate it:

We had house fire 2 days ago, and 2 neighbors came over to help out -- how do I thank them (other than thanking them profusely at the time of the fire)? Are there rules of etiquette for this? I just don't know if a "thank you" card w/ a gift would be enough, or if I should even do that.

Thank you to all who respond.
Hi Zoeyriles143,

Welcome to the Home Improvement Forum!

Sorry to hear about your house fire. How bad were the damages?

I honestly have never heard any particular rules of etiquette for this type of situation. Certainly, a personally written thank you note and a small gift would be nice. I am sure your neighbors were just glad to be of some help. Good neighbors can sometimes be hard to find so it is great that you have each other.
