Ever Fresh Green Bags - Do They Work?? - Day 5 - 11/15/06 03:49 PM

So---my curiosity finally got the better of me and I ordered those Debbie Meyers Ever Fresh Green Bags to store my veggies in. Normally, I would never spend $19 for a 'keep it fresh' plastic bag-even if I do get 80 bags <img src="/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> But I figured just maybe I would save money in the long run, by not having to toss dying veggies. I decided to test the bags.

On November 11, I bought Broccoli Rabe, iceberg lettuce, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, packaged coleslaw and green peppers, including one that had a bad spot. I followed directions and did not wash the vegetables, I removed them from their original bags, including the coleslaw. This is the 5th day and so far I am not disappointed. The green pepper with the bad spot, is in the same condition it was when I placed it in the Ever Fresh Green Bag. My brocolli rabe is still green and fresh, I thought that might a problem because it was a bit damp, but no problem there.

My iceberg lettuce is still pretty good, however it is starting to get those brown freckles. The most amazing is the coleslaw--it is as fresh as the day I bought it. The color has not changed.
