Has anyone caught an episode of this show? I watched last night - its really good. At first I wasn't sure if I would like it because I'm ususally not into that kind of stuff, but I am totally hooked. Has anyone else seen it? There was a lot going on, I'd love to discuss...

I was weary of this show, but wow somehow you get sucked in!
Which is werid for me, cause I seem to be the only on watching it out of all my friends. so I am willing to discuss!!

Fionna - I totally got sucked in too. i'm not usually into this type of show but it is really intriguing.

Just to warn anyone who hasn't seen the show, this thread may contain some spoilers!

What did you think of the whole thing with the baby? I thought they did a great job of pulling together a couple of different plots. Do you think they will really use DNA testing? I thought that was a pretty interesting tie between religion and science.

Also, what about the "devil" character who is in prison. I think that whole thing is really interesting.

What stuff intrigued you the most?
Posted By: Fionna Re: Revelations on NBC - 04/24/05 01:38 AM
"What did you think of the whole thing with the baby?" I knew he must have been fasle christ, because after the took the baby away the guy died so I was like AH HA! So proud of myself, but wow about the church burning did not see that coming!

"Do you think they will really use DNA testing?" I agree with "pretty interesting tie between religion and science" But for some reason though I do not see them getting to the baby to test it. If they still go after that baby it will always be one step ahead I would think.

The "devil" character is so unreal to me I just sit in awe everytime he is on the screen and when they started speaking in the other language I was like whoa, I never knew it went that deep!

1. What is Hawk role in this? (which we will find out next week I think)
2. What the deal with the visions where he is on the plane BOTH times?

I like how it is fast paste and the bible verses in between each set.

It really made me think about where I was spiritually

I guess cause it seems soo real.

I wonder why they are running it a hour a week instead of like a mini movie?
Posted By: raleigh Re: Revelations on NBC - 04/27/05 04:42 PM
I'm impressed that you figured that out false" baby thing so quickly... that part had me confused for a little while. It will be interesting to see how that play's out in tonight's episode. I agree that they probably won't be able to do DNA testing on the baby. I think that they will be looking for the baby for a while since that is one of the central stories. The whole thing with the "devil character" is really interesting... like you said, there seems to be a lot more to that character than I first though.

1. What is Hawk role in this? (which we will find out next week I think) I'm confused, what do you mean? I may have missed something.

2. What the deal with the visions where he is on the plane BOTH times? I know, that is so weird... its strange that is the only time it really hits him that hard. How do you think his daughter died? I wonder if that will come out.

This show totally makes me think about spirituality and religion too, which I didn't expect.

I wonder why they are running it a hour a week instead of like a mini movie? I think its because there is a lot to take in and it keeps us on the edge of our seat!

Are you gonna watch tonight?? I would love to catch up tomorrow. Also, anyone else who watches tonight... feel free to jump in! We can get you up to speed if you need

I did watch it and I am in awe of it.

First let me explain about What I meant with What is Hawk role in this is that in the 1st ep. The doctor goes and see the "devil character" whom killed his daughter by ripping out her heart I think. Well when they were talking the "devil character" said something about Hawk. He never came out and said Hawk was his next victim, but it was implied.

This week was crazy with all the running around they did.
Then how the "devil character" made his way into the oracle body to see where she was. The kidnapping of Hawk was strange as well, I think he going to be the final sacrifice, but I am not sure why they are going to use him since he was questioning god ? Maybe I reading to much into things.

what did you think?
Posted By: raleigh Re: Revelations on NBC - 05/03/05 09:13 PM
I thought this epi was really good (as expected!). I'm totally hooked! It seems like a lot of things are really tying together between Massey and the "devil character" and the baby, etc. I'm excited to see what happens next!

Thanks for explaining what you meant about Hawk's role.... I didn't even pick up on that from the first episode, but definitely foretelling. Did you see the preview for this week's episode? It looks like someone falls off a cliff, I think it might be Hawk, but its hard to tell. What do you think? You mentioned that he might be the final sacrifice (which I think is very possible - and no, you aren't reading too much into it!). Do you think that is how they will sacrifice him? I only caught the commercial once so it was hard to tell what will happen.

Any predictions for this week's episode?

I was unable to watch it Wensday, but Bravo repeats it on Sat so I will be able to catch up and then answer your question....
Posted By: Fionna Re: Revelations on NBC - 05/09/05 09:37 PM
I missed the repeat, I forgot all about it till the next day!

I hate when that happens

Do you think after this is all over with they will show it as one whole movie?
Posted By: Fionna Re: Revelations on NBC - 05/12/05 02:56 AM
WOW, tonight was just crazy! I missed so much I was sort of lost like the woman who the monks left at the apartment who is she? Hawk is now of the other side? Or is he the Son now?
Such a action pack eps as well, the fire at I am guessing the chruch they were in, the killing of the orcale, and then the prison break.
I am on edge to see how it will all end!

I would love it if they showed the whole thing as a movie. I bet a lot more people would watch it if it was all at once. if they come out with DVDs, I might buy them just to see the whole thing in one piece.

Wow, you weren't kidding... last night's episode was crazy!! I dont think Hawk is on the other side now, but that whole fire thing at the end was intense - so who knows?? What did you mean about the woman the monks left at the apt? I must have missed something...

What do you think about that whole baby/animal thing we saw in the previous episode? Think that will come into play?? Oh and that woman who met with the virgin mother - i think she was totally on the "other side" - you think??

Part of me is so excited for next week, but part of me is sad that it will be over!!
Posted By: Fionna Re: Revelations on NBC - 05/14/05 09:03 PM
"Part of me is so excited for next week, but part of me is sad that it will be over!!" I so agree with that!

I think the woman that monks left at the apartment is the virgin mother you were talking about, oh that lady is for the "other side" Something baout the light they are all in is every odd!
I am not sure about "whole baby/animal thing" I am really lost in it.

Oh how cool about the dagger being with the book and its the dagger that the scrool talks about when they were looking at the human form but sort of like a repteil. Which pretty mauch tells you about the head guy who broke out of prison. Remeber he grew his finger back!..

Hi, I didn't catch this thread earlier. I have been watching regularly. When I went to bed last night after catching the first repeat on Bravo, I was on edge. It is not often that a show does that to me. To me, science has not played much of a role in this show. It is a story of good vs. evil or God vs. Satan. I thought that it was so beautiful when Sister saw Emily (Massy's daughter; the name doesn't seem right) walking away with herself after she died. I gather that was Emily from the bed with Emily before death. That is what it appeared to be or do you think it was her guardian angel? Then Dr. Massy saw the two doves.

The "Virgin mother" was found alone in the apartment but the police are helping her look for her baby. Is the police woman real or part of the Satanic cult?

The prison scene and then the television appeal were both frightening.

Dr. Massy was inspired by the drawings and put two and two together to figure out the mosaic on the box. Some of the story lines were remiscent of Dan Brown's Angels and Demons. Yes, then there was the open box, book, and dagger. Fortunately they saved the map of the satan body. We know what will happen. This sounds a bit like Dark Shadows and the vampire story. It is a wild story but intriguing.

I look forward to your comments and speculations on the next and final episode.

Hi angie! welcome to the thread

Wow, I can't believe its almost over! Only two more days - I am so excited to see how it ends!

i forgot to mention that scene where massey's daughter walked off with the coma girl at the end - such a beautiful conclusion to that whole plot. actually - the girl in the coma was not emily, massey's daughter. not sure if you watched the first epi... but a random girl was struck by lightning and fell into a coma and randomly started speaking latin and writing all these crazy messages. that was how massey and the nun met each other.

that woman who was left at the apt is the virgin mom i was talking about - something just seemed "sketchy" about the "police woman" is part of the cult.... just a feeling i get from her.

good call about the dagger being in sort of reptile form - i didn't even pick up on any of that. i thought that was such a good plot twist, a good blend of mystery and stuff.

I didn't even notice the two doves, good eye! there is always so much going on that i sometimes miss details like that.

wow - so much to talk about... any predictions for what will happen with hawk and do you think massey and the devil guy who broke out of jail will meet up face to face?? look forward to hearing all of your predictions!
Posted By: Angie Re: Revelations on NBC - 05/17/05 12:51 AM
I must have missed the very beginning with Emily's death. I thought the brain dead child was his.

Hawk is stronger than we think. The walk through the fire makes me think of Daniel in the fire pit. I think you are right about a face off with Massey and the devil. He sure has his assistants doesn't he? Gives new meaning to selling your soul for a favor.

I don't know how they will windup the story line of the virgin mother and the missing child. The police officer is probably an assistant and is trying to find the child also.

I think Sister is going to use the dagger to destroy the devil. From the way some of the details unfolded last week, it seems that a road map has been laid out. What a clever detail that the book with the instructions and information was written in Braille. There are two sides to every statement that is made - the obvious and then the subtle clues.

What an amazing story it has been. It will be disappointing not to have another episode after Wednesday. Perhaps they will air all the episodes again on Bravo and I will be able to watch them again to see what I missed the first time around.

Don't forget to watch tomorrow night - it's the last episode.

Thanks for the reminder Angie!! I wouldn't miss it

Just to respond to some earlier comments....
The whole thing with Emily's death was confusing. We don't actually know much about her death but I think that might come out a little in this last episode. I like your prediction about the sister using the dagger to destroy the devil - that would be a great ending. It has been an amazing story so far, I can't wait to see how it all ends!! See you guys tomorrow to compare notes

What did you think? Can't wait to discuss the last episode.
Posted By: raleigh Re: Revelations on NBC - 05/19/05 08:23 PM
Hi Angie! I thought it was great! So sad its over though. What did you think of the ending? I thought they did a good job of wrapping up the story but leaving room for more...

SPOILERS

I liked the whole thing with Hawk and how he turned to the bad side but came back over to the good side at the end. I was a little confused with the babies and if one of them was the son of God.
Posted By: Angie Re: Revelations on NBC - 05/19/05 10:37 PM
SPOILERS.....

Yes, the story came together pretty wel. Christ is love. Hawk loved Emily and Massey and that came through to save him. The sacrifice at the end was unbelieveable - the baby (anti-christ) born from a goat. The monk at the end had the Anna Theresa's baby. They were in the desert. They left plenty of room for more because we're not sure what happened to the devil. Does he have the knife or is it at the bottom of the canal or whatever it was they were crossing when the bridge broke through. I was amazed that the participants of the round table were not killed in the explosion and I kept wondering what was going to happen as the round table matched the "nursery" where all the babies were. I kept thinking there was going to be a switch made.

What a wild show. I will try to watch the episode again on Bravo.

I thought this show was ridiculous!!! My question is this...How come we can see a satanic mass and alledged human sacrifice and animal sacrifice on primetime TV but the characters can't fight the so called devil with scripture (really, a knife?!) or say the name of Jesus? One time! The nun said "Christ" one time at the end....I hope everyone watching understands this was FICTION!!! Not real....Ridiculous and I'm glad it's over so we can forget all about it.
Posted By: Angie Re: Revelations on NBC - 05/21/05 07:11 PM
You're right - fiction! It's important to remember that. It is like the DaVinci Code too - fiction! I forgot to watch the episode again on Bravo - it takes more than once to catch all the dialog. Actually, the best episode was the next to last one as it was a thriller. The last episode could in no way explain anything as the end of times is shrouded in mystery. So, all you can do is tie up the loose ends of a novel and leave room for a sequel.
Posted By: Angie Re: Revelations on NBC - 05/21/05 07:16 PM
I forgot to respond to you - this was a mix of vampires sprinkled with religious overtones - it reminded me a lot of Dark Shadows - thus the knife business. It was just a show.

Sorry ya'll that I have not been commenting, but I knew if I came here I would read what was going on and I was not able to see the last show till right now! So I will be back with comments!
Posted By: raleigh Re: Revelations on NBC - 05/23/05 05:15 PM
I think we all agree that this show is based on fiction. If you are looking for a direct interpretation of the Bible then this is not the show for you. But I thought this show was very entertaining - suspenseful, exciting, etc. Fionna - ever have a chance to catch it? I'd love to hear your comments...
Posted By: Angie Re: Revelations on NBC - 05/24/05 02:20 AM
I agree - for once in a long time, it was a show that I looked forward to watching each week; it kept me on the edge of my seat; it kept me guessing who was doing what to whom.

I was really impressed with how it ended. Wow with Hawk! I really thought he turned bad! It had me on myr seat to the very end and then with the baby being shown. I was think YES more to come, but you know they always leave hanger to act on later on and sometime never do. Does anyone know how the rating were?? COuld there me more?? Hmmm.....

All in all I would watch it again cause I am sure there is tons I missed out on.
