www.smarterthanjack.com

Just found this site, recommended by someone on another site I go to. Here's what she wrote:

"New book released by RSPCA (Australia) - for animal lovers!
"Smarter than Jack" was released last year with great success. It raised AUS$60,000 for the RSPCA.
Now, "Australian animals are Smarter than Jack" has been released and $10 of the sell price will go directly to the RSPCA.
The book includes 85 new true stories about heroic or hilarious antics of smart animals. There is also a chapter on unique Aussie animals.
Also just released is "Why animals are Smarter than us".
All 3 titles mentioned here cost AUS$19.95 each and can be obtained from the RSPCA. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> "

What I hadn't realized until I saw it mentioned on this site's home page was that they are partnering with the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies to create a Canadian edition of this best-selling series.

It sounds like a good one! The very cute picture at the site you linked to could be Angelique reading the book--or has she fallen asleep intending to read just like her mom?

I have a wonderful photo of my old cat, Jessie, which I've captioned "Jessie, catching up *on* the news". It is a pic of her, sprawled across my newspaper.

Maybe I can send it to you, Leequi and you could try to post it here?

A very cute picture indeed. Meow doesn't get on my reading material. But, she loves for me to drop sections of the newspaper on the floor when I'm done reading them at the breakfast table. She will lay on the newspaper pile until breakfast is over. Then I can pick them up and put them in the recycle can.

It's great that these books are raising so much money for the RSPCA.

The book sounds like something I'd enjoy. I love to read true stories about animals to my students to instill a love and respect of non-humans in them. I may have to purchase that one.

When I recycle newspapers for our shelter I open them up and lay them flat on the floor. If I leave them lay for any amount of time, the cats will find them and run and slide on them, reducing them to crumpled up shreds.

Leequi, I have the same problem with intending to read and falling asleep.
