I think any childfree person can get a chuckle out of this. And parents too, if they have a sense of humor about pregnancy.

Well, the Onion is a sarcastic newspaper...all their articles are fake. So that's what makes it entertaining. I believe there is a touch of truth to them, even though they are fabricated.
Hormones can totally change the 'real' you....Just look at the transformation women go through - to varying degrees - whan we go through the mmenopause.....!

I remember one woman in my ward, when I was pregnant and in hospital for obs, (Good Christian gal, really devout and very religious) and the language she was coming out with would make a trawler navvy blush - !! apparently, in the middle of labour, she was less than complimentary to her husband.....

And the surgeon.....

and the midwives......

and anyone who happened to be in the line of fire, really - !!

Hey, gang!

I think some of you missed it, but as stated earlier in this thread, the Onion is NOT a real newspaper. It's done for comedy and they make up all the stories.

Anyone who thinks they read a real story, please go back and look around the Onion a bit more for a reality check.

I miss living in San Francisco, where I could pick up copies of the Onion for free....

I used to listen to it on the radio here all the time when I worked outside the home. They're "stories" are hilarious, such as the one posted here. Although it's not a true story, it could have very well have been...LOL!
everyone has a different experience so sometimes its true and sometimes its not, anyhow this is a fake story and i've never heard of the onion untill now seems like it'd be cool to read some more of their stories
Yes- The Onion is a great source of fun and amusement... I used to be a subscriber :-) I believe you can read it online at www.theonion.com ENJOY!
[color:"green"]It may just be for humor, but I thought that was a very honest piece of lit.
Yes- their humor, or maybe it is best labeled satire, often does have a facet of honesty to it. Love the Hepburn quote by the way!
[color:"darkgreen"]Thank you. Hepburn sounds like she's a perfectionist, and she knows herself well, to combat pressure from either family or society to reproduce. Especially during the 40s, 50s and 60s when pressure would have been at an all time high. Sadly, it still is even in the 2000s. Her quote is something to live by in a child-centered world. There is nothing wrong with not feeling maternal. It's quite liberating actually.
