I have scars on my right hand that remind me of my youth. It was Christmas Eve of my sophomore year, and I had gone to the kitchen for a final glass of eggnog before opening presents. I pulled on the chain to turn the light off, and the glass fixture fell and broke across my hand that was holding the eggnog. I was furious about losing that eggnog! I trip to the hospital and about 30 stitches later, and we were opening presents, pleased that the hand would be fully functional.
