My husband and I know that the only way we have a chance of having a baby is with IVF. We live in California and our employer's insurance does not carry an ART benefit so we are told we have to pay out of pocket for IVF. Does anyone know of an alternative way to get the costs of IVF covered. We are applying for the Bumps, Fertility Dreams and Tina Cade grants, but that is no guarantee.

Any ideas would be very helpful. Thank you.

For those of you who know about the Fertile Dreams grant, there is still time to submit for their $10,000 grant coverage for IVF. Also, the applications are out for the Bumps and Tina Cade grants. Look online for these at their respective websites.

And, I just found out that you can enter into clinical research trials of different types based out of some Fertility Clinics, such as Huntington Reproductive Center, and get some or all costs covered for IVF. Of course, educate yourself about the study to be sure you are comfortable with it and that it fits you before you apply to be part of the study.
