I just read a review of "Only You," a movie about soulmates. The reviewer posed the question:

Do you believe in destiny?

Of course, I think different people have different definitions of "destiny." I for one see destiny as different from fate. But some people see them as the same.

For the purpose of this question, let's define destiny as the goodness that the soul wants to experience being pre-planned. So, the meeting of a soulmate may be considered destiny.
