My favourite short trek in the Himalayas is the Mardi Himal trek. This is short and scenic trek from Pokhara of Nepal. It is about 8 days maximum for the round trip. The trek was open only in 2013 making it the most pristine trek in Annapurna. There are teahouses along the trail catering and accommodating trekkers. The route mostly follows the ridge to the western buttresses of Mt Fishtail and Mardi Himal. The highest point of the trek is 4,500 m at Mardi Himal base camp.
