Well after 3 weeks of nagging from my husband, I finally caved in and wewent to see XXX last night. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
The movie was action-packed and the storyline was pretty interesting.
I see big things in Vin Diesel's future.
Plus, he was pretty great to look at.
Vin Diesel plays a thrill-seeker named Xander Cage. Nicknamed XXX for the triple-X tattoo underneath his noggin, Xander is an expert motocrosser, snowboarder and parachuter who sells his stunt videos on the web. Xander finds himself recruited by Agent Gibbons, Samuel L. Jackson, and the National Security Agency to infiltrate some Euro bad guys called Anarchy 99 located in Prague.
Why do they decide to recruit Xander? Well, the NSA has lost some of their best agents trying to take down Anarchy 99. The loss being great, they decide to get someone who is streetwise, has somewhat of a criminal background (he's a petty crook) and, of course, someone who's totally expendable. But, Xander has no fear of death, which the NSA's operative controller, Samuel L. Jackson, feels is perfect.
If you like action-packed, jawdropping scenes, as well as cool techno gadgets, you'll really enjoy watching XXX. Though it's been compared to the Bond movies, XXX is full of pure action and attitude. You won't see Diesel wearing a tux in this film. If anything it's Bond with attitude and a tough body. Vin Diesel makes a wonderful action star and plays his role in this film very well. Fearless and nonchalant. This film gets 4 out of 5 stars.
I went as I wanted to see Marton Csokas, who plays Yorgi, with the natural brown hair they covered with a long blonde wig for his role as Celeborn in LotR:FotR. Yummmm....
Then again, I always like the bad guys better...
