PBS is screening the documentary "Hollywood's Architect: The Paul R. Williams Story" (2019) this month, as part of their Black History programming. Williams began his career in the late 1920s and was the first African-American member of the American Institute of Architects. He built homes for many Hollywood celebrities but only became close friends with one - Danny Thomas. When Thomas told Williams about his vision for a hospital that would treat children free of charge, Williams designed and donated his plans for the first St. Jude Children's Hospital. The documentary is narrated by Courtney B. Vance.

Thanks for sharing.
Announced today - Regina King will play Shirley Chisholm in a new biopic. Chisholm was the first African-American Congresswoman and ran for president in 1972. The film will concentrate on that groundbreaking presidential campaign. Milwaukee native John Ridley is on board to write and direct the film. Production is set to begin later this year.
