I always enjoyed watching "The Wonder Years". I was the same age as the characters in the show in the early 1970s. I thought it was interesting that the actress who played "Winnie Cooper" in the show chose the name of one of the main characters from "Harry Potter" for her son, born today.

Here's the article link:

Cool news! Thanks for posting.

I wonder why they went with Draco. Any guesses? (Has Danica talked about the story behind the name in an interview somewhere?)
Draco is Latin for "dragon." It also is that name of the first Athenian lawgiver who established very harsh rules and sentences (hence, the term "draconian.")A draco is the name of a dwarf galaxy as well.

There are lots of examples of the name, "Draco" in literature but they seem to be negative characters.

But perhaps, she just like the Harry Potter character. *shrug*
A TV Guide article made it sound like the name was inspired specifically by the constellation:

Quote:
The Wonder Years alum and math guru gave birth to son Draco Verta on Tuesday, her rep tells TVGuide.com. Draco who takes his moniker from the constellation of the same name weighed in at 7 pounds, 2 ounces, and is the first child for McKellar, 35, and her husband, Mike Verta.

If that's the case, I wonder if there's anything about the constellation that's important/significant to Danica & her husband.
