*yells in Stanley's voice: "STEL-LAAAAA!!!!!!!!! STEEEEEEL-LAAAA!!!"*

I voted for Claudia. I can't see a Stella in kindergarden being very happy about her name. LOL

Stella is gaining in popularity in the naming world, but its one I can't find myself appreciating..

Claudia was an easy choice.

Definitely Stella. Claudia just sounds old, whereas Stella is a name that ages well, but is still trendy sounding without being overused.

I voted for Claudia. I just hate Stella. It sounds like a 40 year old woman, not a baby. Claudia is cute for a baby and still not too cutesy sounding for an adult.

I love Stella. Claudia reminds me of a clod and means "lame", whereas Stella means "star". I love Claudette, though, like Claudette Colbert.

I'm not a real fan of either of those names but I like Stella much better. CLaudia is too posh and old fashioned sounding.

I agree with Scarlet Lark about Claudia. Kids are sure to shorten it when name calling. I like the name Stella. My cousin is a hip NY pediatrician who named her daughter Stella (4) and her son Jack (2). Classic names!

Definately Stella. I do like Claudia as well, and was actually somewhat stuck in what I liked better... but after a while of thinking about it, Stella is just so much prettier.

Claudia. I think Stella sounds kind of like an older. Claudia sounds good for younger and older people

I like them both but I think Stella wins out

I can't get Marlong Brando out of my head, but I suppose a young Marlon Brandpo isnt the worst vision in the world

Stella, definitely. Claudia is okay, but Stella is great--I can picture Stella being cute, smart, strong. Wasn't Claudia the vampire kid in "An Interview with a Vampire"? Maybe that's colored my opinion.

Well, I agree with most people here. I like Stella better than Claudia because of the meaning of Claudia which means "crippled leg" or "lame.

I know a young girl (6 years old) by the name of Claudia and even though they are spanish and pronounce it "Cloud-ia" she gets teased a lot and I hate to see that happening with kids.

They are both GORGEOUS, and may I applaude you on NOT picking a 'lyn name or a boys name or any of the other extremely boring and irritating trendy/popular names that are soooo over used. This was such a refreshing change for me to vote on!

I guess if I HAD to pick I'd pick Stella, but Claudia is very nice too, Michelle Pfeifer's DD is Claudia Rose. Melanie Griffith & Antonio Banderas, and Dan Ackroyd, have DD's named Stella too.
Stella del Carmen
Stella Irene Augustus

Good luck!

Claudia definitely! I just can't get the sound of the name Stella being yelled over and over again out of my head.
