just completed ffx, and thought the ending was great. thanks to lisa and sepiroth_the_great and all the other people who helped me.

anybody know anything about the sequel? hear they are already making it but nothing else!

ff 11 is NOT going to be the sequel. That game is already made, and is made to be played online. It has been getting mixed reviews. I have no definite news on the sequel, though the general consensus is that it will be ff 12.

Does that mean it'll not be on the Playstation2 or are we gonna have to buy more equipment to put it online!!!!!

I'm pretty sure that I heard somewhere (might wanna ask lisa on this) that they have an adaptor for the ps2 to make it compatable with the internet. So you would still use your game console. To play ff11 you're going to need the network adapter which is coming out on the 27 of august for $39.99 and the ps2 hard drive, but ff11 itself won't come out until next year sometime and you can expect to pick up some kind of ff11 + network adapter + hard drive bundle then anyway. But that is if you really want to spend so much money for just one game

you have lost me - why does the game have to be played over the net and if it is played over the net can we play against each other?

I heard that 12 was going to be just like 10 only you play as yuna instead of Tidus.

well im buying it for the ps2 but theres one problem, i heard it was over the phone line so am i gonna have to pay the phone bill or can you play it through cable? cuz its gonna be expensive if you have to buyt all that stuff and then also pay the phone bill <img src="/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

We don't know for sure (yet) that there is going to be a sequel... on the other hand a lot of respectable ff sites have been mentioning it. So I guess we'll just all have to wait and see <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

ff11 is already out in japan so it want real long before it comes to america i dont now about europe though

a sequel would be nice, I think the story from ff10 is about the best of the ones I've played (7,8,9,10.....I know a lot of people liked 7 but the story in 7 never really gripped me).

I just read on squarenet.de that the beta testing for Final Fantasy 11 will start end of this year... only in Japan though <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

well then the site is wrong becuz final fantasy 11 is already out in japan

Also in FFX1 you need to pay money for every character you make and pay a monthly subscription to be able to play the game, something like ï¿½7 in the uk.

So each year you play the game its costing an extra ï¿½84!!!

A sequel would be great...they tried to make a sequel for final fantasy 4+5 i think but it never worked so seing 1 would be good.....wouldnt it be great if the whole Final Fantasy was grouped in sum way like different time lines <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I extremely doubt they will make 12 as a sequel to 10, its against their policy, a while back they said they would never continue any ff game into the next, however there may be a spinoff involving some ffx characters, ff 12 is already in production but i have heard nothing about it being a sequel.

Right, there are different things going on here.

There are two "spinoffs" for FFX which let you play I think Rikku and Tidus if I remember properly. They're not sequels, they're side stories. They never carry characters over from one game to the next.

In addition, they're coming out with FFXI with is an on line multiplayer game. All of the consoles - including the PS2, XBox, and GameCube - are becoming internet enabled. So this means you'd be able to play on the internet with other people. The XBox is only going to allow broadband, but the PS2 and GameCube will allow phone lines if that's all that you have. It's not ANY different than how you connect to the internet now.

Lisa is there a site where all that info is about ps2 internet stuff cos i reackon its already built in but there are just no cables yet cos there are usb ports which i can find no use for!!!! cos every thing plugs into the pad ports!

Yes, all 3 consoles - the PS2, XBox and GameCube came with the *ports* to play on the internet but none of the three had the hardware set yet.

Lisa, this "side story" to FFX, while it's not a sequel, does it continue forward in time? Like I saw the FFX International Version ending and I'm a little curious to see if they'll continue on that. Other people said you play this same story, only with Yuna and Rikku which sounds like a [censored] idea to me. They better continue on with that story.

hey if its a spin off maybe its Rikku and Yuna growing up, seen as there are cousins???
I don't know how this kind of game will work online though, cos the whole base of FF games is there turn based it would be like playing chess online how can the same people all over the world be on line at the same time for a game that could last in excess of 100hrs other games work because they are realativly short 3 to 4hrs but no way will the same people be on line together for that amount of time, lets say they played for 5hrs then one had to go off line would the whole story just have to wait???? 100hrs would turn into 100,000hrs in no time!!!
