Hi everyone

Well, I've done it again; I couldn't resist those dark brown eyes!!

Saturday was a busy day for me, what with Christmas shopping to do and errands to run. My mother had recently hurt her leg at the gym, so I went out with my Dad to get some things she needed, while she looked after my little daughter, it was the perfect excuse to buy her Christmas presents too. One of the errands on the list was 'purchase a rope perch for Missy Too' as he has reduced his old one to something that resembles a pompom, so it was removed post haste. We went round the usual pet stores, but no rope perches to be seen. Eventually we stopped off at an Exotics pet store to look at larger vivs for my tortoises, we popped upstairs to the parrot department to look for said rope perch. There I saw a Bare Eyed Cockatoo, she said 'hello' and then pushed her foot through the bars for me to tickle. My Dad and I phoned my mum to talk it through (she has a fear of parrots, or rather their beaks!) She said if we wanted we could have her. Well, I decided to handle her first for a while before making the decision, BIG MISTAKE! She bit and bit hard! When I finally got her out of her cage she ran away across the floor of the shop under the cages. It took me a while to coax her out, but once I had she was the sweetest bird ever, just a big cuddle sponge. It was then I was told she was two years old and a man hater (we already have a man hater in the flock), I got the impression the owner was giving me the hard sell. So I said no and put her back (which had it's own problems), really she wasn't the right bird to fit into our flock. I didn't think it was fair to buy a bird my father wouldn't be able to handle.

Just as I was leaving the female sale assistant said, 'Have you seen our silly tame baby toos.' I went into the baby room and they had two Lesser Sulphur Crested Too babies. I picked one up and he/she snuggled into my shoulder, looked up at me and said 'peep', that was it I was hooked.

So please say hello to Casper

Poor pic I'm sorry, but I need to get my digi cam back off my brother lol. We chose the name Casper because it can be changed to Cassie once we know the sex. He/she is four months old and a little cuddle bug!
