For this game, each post must carry the name of a movie beginning with the next letter of the alphabet. for instance, I'll start you off with A so the next post must be a B. Then tell us a bit about the movie. Have you seen it? Did you like it? Have you only heard about it? Anything you'd like to say. Please give others a chance. If you post
H, let a few posts go by before you post again.
Okay, first movie - A
AMITYVILLE HORROR
I've seen it a couple of times. Scary, but not altogether believable. I don't think it really happened, even though they claim it's based on a true story.
NEXT - B
Blacula - a rather braindead combo of 1970s "blaxsploitation" and campy horror.
Next C
Okay, I'll go with
Cat's Eye - The Stephen King short story movie. The one about the "stop smoking clinic" messed me up. Other than that, it was just "okay". There aren't too many good "C" movies that I've seen.
Cabin Fever - was just gross, not scary
Dracula, I know there are many different version, but I am talking about the B&W one made in 1931.
the Fly...1958. We watched it the other day...I can still hear that tiny voice saying "help me!!" Connie
H would have to be Halloween
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Are we stuck on L or what???!! Would Little Shop of Horrors count?
What happened to G? I thought "Godfather" was up here before, but okay, "Grapes of Wrath". Now on to M.
While "Godfather" and "Grapes of Wrath" are excellent films, they don't qualify as horror . How about "The Guardian" (the one where the nanny turns out to be a Druid princess sacrificing her charges)?
Okay, M....
"Magic" - its that one back from th 70s w/ Sir Anthony Hopkins as a Ventriloquist whose dummy starts killing people. It's been a long time since I've seen it but I think he had a split personality like Anthony Perkins in "Psycho" and was using his dummy as his "outlet"
(what is it with all these Anthony's playing insane people- and Sir Hopkins has made a life-spanning career out of it!)
Night of the Living Dead
Nighmare on Elm Street
O...Omen...I remember Magic, it was so scary!!
"Queen of the Damned" - Why they skipped over "The Vampire Lestat" and went straight to this I'll never know...
but Aaliyah was gorgeous, and it was so sad that this was her first and last film. She had a beautiful voice. I'm not sure about her acting talents, I thought this movie was pitiful compared to both the book and the original "Interview with a Vampire" - so it is hard to say whether it was her acting that was bad, or it was the script. And now we'll never know.
Well I guess the natural would be
Texas Chain Saw Massacre but I'm a Steven King fan;
Thinner or
Tommyknockers would have to be it for me.
Since no one else is going to take a stab at V:
Village of the Damned
Okay, it's not exactly horror, but how about X-files?
(Kat, is it just me & you left?)
Looks like it. Since you skipped over W:
Wolf
That's what i get for not singing the "ABC" song!
I am totally stuck on "y" - All I come up with are Dramas!
I don't think there are any that start with Y. I could be wrong but I can't find any.
Personally I thought "Zoolander" was pretty horrific.
Does that count?
Isn't that a comedy?
How about Zombi Holocaust
Yeah, it was supposed to be a comedy, but it was so terrible, I thought it might slip in under the heading of horror just for sheer "badness".
Yeah! We're done!!! huzzah, huzzah! (we need like a little cheerleader smiley face)
P - Phantom of the Opera (B & W)
Q - Queen Of The Damned
R - Race With The Devil
The last was the letter z, what about we include numbers before starting with the alphabet again?
