Simple Sewing Ideas for Tidying-Up

My mother was a quilter and did she have thread and fabric. About the thread, she created a board and drilled slanted holes into the board. She then placed pegs into the holes and placed the spools of thread onto the pegs. She could at a glance what she had - how much and what colors.

Wow. I have the very same type slanted board with drilled holes to park some of my thread spools on. The pegs are a little wobbly now but no matter. The thread spools I use most often are displayed in the open (out of the sunlight) and within easy reach.
