The 47th annual Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) runs September 8th through September 18th, 2022. Among the films screening at TIFF is "Godland", the new character study from Iceland's celebrated director Hlynur Palmason. Set in the late 19th century, "Godland" chronicles the downfall of a young Danish priest who travels to a remote Icelandic village to build a church and photograph the inhabitants. A short clip is on YouTube and hints that the Icelandic landscape may be a major protagonist in the film.

Another Scandinavian entry is Norway's "War Sailor", written and directed by Gunnar Vikene. It looks to be an intense WWII action film that has the friendship of two sailors at its core. Starring Pal Sverre Hagen, here's a link to the trailer. War Sailor TIFF 2022

Australia also has several projects premiering at TIFF, including "Blueback" (which I wrote about in an earlier post) and the Indigenous omnibus drama "We Are Still Here".
