"The Man Who Sold His Skin", nominated for an Oscar in the Best International Feature category, is being released in Los Angeles theaters today. It will open in New York and other locations next week. Writer-director Kaouther Ben Hania has an amazing eye and distinctive voice. I also like her casting choices. Koen De Bouw, the Belgian actor of "Professor T" fame, plays the artist who tattoos a Syrian refugee and puts him on display. Here's a link to the trailer. Update: "The Man Who Sold His Skin" is now streaming on Amazon Prime. While not as effective as Ben Hania's debut feature, this is still worth viewing.
