Sock monkeys, raggedy dolls, bunnies and bears, oh my! Sewing huggable stuffed toys for children for gift-giving or just-because is a delightful, surprisingly satisfying undertaking and serves as a message of love and caring to the recipient.

The Cabbage Patch Dolls are endearing. My oldest "half made" project is now 40 years old. An insulated, lined Roman shade style and matching curtains. I recently tried to repurpose the pair into an insulated shade for a kitchen window. I laundered the shade and the inside batting just bunched up and made the shade a wrinkly mess. My quilting skills are limited to just ogling others quilting projects. Sigh. What would be your oldest "half made"?

My mother was a quilter. She did beautiful work. I had done a cross stitch a very long time ago but never framed it. My daughter in law saw it, framed it for me and I sent it to my nephew and his family. They have a new born. It was a giraffe and the quote was something like you're never too big to look up to your father. I wish I had thought to take a phot of it before I mailed it off two weeks ago. I've got hook rugs, aida cloth, you name it.
