Netflix announced an October 21st release date for its adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's "Rebecca". This new version stars Lily James, Armie Hammer, and Kristen Scott Thomas. The classic 1940 version, directed by Alfred Hitchcock, starred Joan Fontaine, Laurence Olivier, and Judith Anderson. Ben Wheatley is behind the camera for this latest version but I really don't understand the desire to remake this film. It was already done by the BBC as a two-part drama, unsuccessfully I think. There are pics on the internet of the new cast if you're curious - no trailer yet.
