LOL, about Canadian Geese, they live here in Central Virginia full time. I love it when the flock decides to cross the four lane divided highway and traffic has to stop for them as they stroll across the road.
We actually have a few small groups of Canada geese that winter over here in Alaska - although it sure isn’t the norm. One river near us has an underground spring that keeps the surface ice-free all winter where it runs under the highway and enters a lake. There are about a dozen Canada geese and a handful of mallard ducks. I’m pretty sure locals feed them. Most geese are long gone by late fall!
