Today we celebrate Mary, the Holy Mother of God and the World Day of Peace. We recall that Mary said, "Yes" to God. What courage she had. Her life was difficult and as the Mother of Jesus she had much to ponder and wonder about as shepherds came and told her about why they came to see the Holy Family; then the Magi, then in the middle of the night they left for Egypt, then when Jesus was 12 he stayed at the temple and he was lost. I have often wondered how people in Nazareth treated her. She was very special and today is a day to honor her.
At Mass today, Father talked about the difference between wishes and resolutions. We often say we want to do something but do not take any action to accomplish it. A resolution is making a blueprint for how we will accomplish something and taking the first step to begin to make a change. If we want to pray more, we need to set a time aside and do it daily. We need to be quiet and ponder God's word, like Mary. That brings us peace.
