The tea at the historic house served several black teas and herbal teas available (each person poured their own hot water into the cup) and the cucumber, pimento, and chicken salad sandwiches were very good. There were various desserts. The tea house that is open for business and by reservation only served sandwiches where the bread was cut with cookie cutters and shaped like mittens or trees, etc. She served a salad first, then the sandwiches along with some sweets. Then she served dessert - a slice of cake. She also served only one kind of tea so it was brewed in the tea pot and the servers kept the pot filled. She had a cute little elastic fastener which kept the lid on the tea pot snugly and a little paper roll that acted as a sponge so that the tea did not drip down the side of the pot.
