How does Mercury compare in size to the other rocky planets? Here Mercury is shown with Venus, Earth and Mars. It is bigger than the Moon. Though, of course, although it's rocky, our moon isn't a planet.

Mercury shares a feature with the Earth. It still has a molten core. Both Earth and Mercury have active geology in which parts of the crust are still being pushed up to change the surface. As Mercury's core slowly cools, the density of that core increases and it gets slightly smaller.
