"The Only Woman in the Room" by Marie Benedict, a novelization of Hedy Lamarr's incredible life as an actress and inventor, arrived in bookstores this week. Barnes & Noble chose the book as its January book club selection. Fans of the book can get together on February 5th in their local B&N cafe for a discussion.
Lamarr was never compensated for her work in developing the concept of frequency hopping used in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, among other tech innovations. For the real facts, you can check out Alexandra Dean's documentary "Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story" on Netflix or Amazon.
