Broth bowls are an easy way to get more nutrition into your family's meals. They are as easy as finely chopping veggies & throwing them into the bowl! Protein can be plant or animal based but, it does need to be precooked. Good nutrition helps families keep the negative symptoms of ADD at bay.

After yesterday's festival of rich foods, I needed something plain, yet interesting. A broth bowl absolutely fit the bill! I chopped a cup of veggies from our vegetable tray. I used carrots, celery, peppers, Romaine lettuce, onions, and cucumbers. I got a can of chicken noodle soup, and added tofu cubes. When the soup and tofu was boiling, I poured half of it over the veggies. After adding teriyaki and sambol, I let the soup stand for 5 minutes. Quick, easy, and delicious! Plus, it is a low cal, low carb meal.

Shirataki noodles are a good way to add noodles without carbs. Shrimp are a wonderful low carb, low fat food for broth bowls.

It is a great time of year to put a broth bowl together. If you buy rotisserie chicken, boil the bones after you use the meat. Add a little celery and onion for a flavorful broth. Pull the bones out and make yummy soup!
