I am tweaking my dystopian cover – currently I have a feeling the main horse looks too much like a cartoon and makes the book look like a young kid’s book. It’s more an older teen book. So the left is the old one. This is sort of subtle but is the right one better in terms of avoiding the straight “kiddie” feel? I like the overall design and am trying to pull the horse away from the cartoon feel I was getting from the left-hand one. I misted him and softened his edges. I don’t want to go too soft, so he becomes a blob … I’m hoping he becomes more skeletal / creepy.
