I'm scanning my father's letters to my mother during WWII. My father shipped out in 1942. I'm now scanning letters dated September 9, 1944. This particular letter said that he had been in the hospital for battle fatigue. He realized later he had a shrapnel wound. D-Day was in June 1944. He wrote in a letter that when they said good bye at Union Station they had no idea he would be over seas for two years. Dad had been at the front for 55 days. My father didn't return home until January 1946. The letters talk about life in the field; what they ate; saw; life in general.

I've resolved to do at least one letter each day when I sit down at my PC to read email preferably in the morning.

I found out that my Dad lost all his gear while he was at the front in Normandy sometime in July 1944. When he wrote this letter he was in the hospital.

It hasn't quite worked out the way I planned. Due to a family situation, I don't always get to sit at the computer early.

Hopefully, I'll get with the new routine.
