Thank you, Connie! My husband, David and I met in the 7th grade. We weren't romantic at all during the school years, but we were very good friends. We met back up at our 10 year class reunion after my divorce from my first husband. I won't say it was love at first sight, but there was definitely something there.
We dated for a year as "just friends" - literally. We never even held hands, much less kissed, but we talked, a lot, and about everything.
The thing that kept us from getting together sooner was we were both terrified of messing up this precious friendship we had, but i was afraid of missing out on more, so I screwed up my courage one day and kissed him, and he said he'd been trying to figure out how to do that, LOL!
We've been married almost 17 years now and I can count on one hand the number of times we have fought. We do discuss matters, but we don't fight, and i think a lot of that has to do with the fact that we had that deep friendship bond before we ever said, "I do".
