Today the National Film Registry, part of the Library of Congress, unveiled its new list of 25 American films that it considers culturally and historically important. Hitchcock's 1963 classic "The Birds" made the cut, as well as "Thelma and Louise", "Funny Girl", "East of Eden", and D.W. Griffith's 1912 silent classic "The Musketeers of Pig Alley", starring Lillian Gish.
