Warning: This contain spoilers.

Very bad movie.
Until towards the end when she faces the whatever that thing is it was actually not too awful but that scene and what follows is not only awful it makes no sense at all. What is that thing? Why was it scared by that woman? Why did it run to the basement? Why does she keep it there and feed it? How are they able to go on with their lives just like nothing happened (there im talking about their injuries - how was that explained to the doctors and authorities - she was already under some suspicion + she lost her job and at the end she has it again)? Plus that movie is not scary nor is it disgusting, some parts (when the babadook is in the old womans house + when he enters the bedroom of the woman) were almost freaky but it was not either. After this review I will go on it's IMDB page, hopefully that ending is explained there!
The sounds are excellent. The cinematography is great. The acting, directing, sets and makeup are good. The editing and costumes are average. The story, music and special effects are bad. The script is horrible.

I read that the Babadook was a personification of the mother's homicidal depression, and by keeping it in the basement and feeding it, they were suppressing it. I agree it was a terrible movie, and the only emotion I felt was a strong hope the kid would die so he'd shut up.

I saw a few people thinking this on IMDB. It makes sense. But still even if it's the case that does not make this movie better.

I think they are remaking it and it will be done in the United States. I normally hate remakes but only if the movie was good which is not the case here so hopefully if it is indeed done it will be good, it did have the potential to be good so people who knows what they're doing could make this a good movie.
