It is hard to believe that we are now in the Lenten season. My women's group at church met until Noon and then we "retreated" into the church for the Ash Wednesday service where we received our ashes.

Our brand spanking new pastor officiated with the deacon at this service. This was our first opportunity to meet him; he is from El Salvador. We normally give something up for Lent and in this case we need to give up fear of this unknown pastor and take on being a receptive, enthusiastic Christian ready to, as the word used so frequently in our Bible, "repent" which means to change.

What are you doing for Lent this year? There are so many opportunities for study.
