My fave authors are John Grisham, Zane Grey, Louis L'Amour. I guess that is it as far as favorite authors go.

And Vince, have you read "The Brethren" by John Grisham.

I also loved "The Appeal". Very eye opening.

Chel, I met Margaret Atwood several years ago on the Queen Mary 2. The Year of the Flood had been released in North America, but she was on her way to Europe for the release there. Besides giving two lectures on the ship, the first official event for the promotional tour was a book signing. (The book, although not yet available in the UK, was on sale in the ship's bookstore!) Someone took a picture of the people waiting for the signing - which included me near the front! - and the picture was on her blog.

I haven't read The Appeal yet but a few of my other faves by Grisham are: A Time to Kill, The Runaway Jury, The Rainmaker and the Street Lawyer.

Thanks Chel! That's the best wish ever laugh

Oh ya, I love John Grisham too - but it's been years since I've read anything by him.

Mona! How neat! Did you save the picture?
I met Beverly Cleary when I was a little girl. She wrote the Ramona the Pest series and other books.

Chel, the picture is still online. I"m the 5th one along, the only one in the picture holding the book that was being promoted.

Beverly Cleary is a delight. I've read some of the Ramona books. Did you know she'll be 100 on April 12? (That's also Yuri's Night.)

Mona! Great picture! I love the fact you are holding the promoted book. Yes, I did know she was going to be 100. Yet, in my mind, Ramona never ages. smile
