Do you use Family Tree Maker and what are your plans for the future? What programs are you considering as your family tree software?

I use Brothers Keeper presently so I am not affected. I did try FTM and used it once to sync with my tree on Ancestry.com but I have not used it since then.

There has been lots of discussion about FTM and software packages that are out there for genealogists to try.

FTM has been sold to MacKiev which evidently developed FTM for Mac. Roots Magic has been awarded a contract also so that their program will sync with Ancestry online.

I was listening to a webinar about family tree software and Roots Magic was high on the list. There are a number of people who have signed up for a Roots Magic user group.
