It includes things such as sleep deprivation (hand up), air conditioning (hand up), choice of partner.

We all know how accurate scientific studies are (tongue in cheek). I think what their saying is there are other things that influence the lifestyle and eating patterns. Like someone who is well rested would be less of a drone about eating a box of donuts for breakfast. Assuming all large people eat donuts for breakfast.

I know why I'm fat but I would never assume every one else is fat for the same reason. I believe there's more to it than just lifestyle and eating patterns, sure that's the basic biology behind it but being fat isn't just about putting food in your mouth. People overeat for different reasons. They can't all be slushed into a majority pile.

Well, it really comes down to how we define fat, over-weight, and obese. I will NEVER be a small person. It isn't in my genes or my body-type. I will never have an ultra low bodyfat index. But I do need to loose weight. In my case, I have a hormone imbalance that causes me problems, a large frame, and genes. But I could excercise more and I certainly can stand to eat better.

Just as living habits can make one prone to illness, many factors can make you prone to being unhealthy in other ways. This study should be used to help people lose weight and keep it off. That really only happens with a whole lifestyle change.

I have always been big, but very physically fit in highschool. I am what you call medium size, that I am still acceptable by society and still fit the clothes. Now after I had my daughter I went up to 240lbs, I used to weigh 180, that was in 99. after I had my daughter in 99 I could'nt take the change, so I made myself get up and workout. I was so determined I made it down to 169lbs from 240 to 169 I was a new person then I met my husband, now he is on the chubby side so me and him worked out together and he lost a bit of weight, then suddenly things start to change we got married in 2001 we had a baby in 2003 but in 2001 I weighed 189lbs what a change then after baby I weighed 220 I have always been the eat right get fit type the only thing is he is not I like baked he like's fried I like lemon with water he likes lemon with water with lots of sugar added to it and he loves eating out so what happens I end up doing it right along with him and now Im at the peak where I can get diabetes heart disease cancer if you want to see what I look like now go to www.myspace.com/tiffanysharae and then picture me at 169lbs. but the whole point is yes lifestyle can get you fat it was and is a lifestyle Im still not used to I have two little people to look after and I don't have any time for myself. oh and in the picture it is very recent so I weigh probably 300. <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I am sadly used to seeing lists like that. There is no common sense anymore and it's never our fault. It is ridiculous but it will never change as long as our species is around it will only become worst.
