They showed a 20 second clip of the new series Fear the Walking Dead. A lot of people don't like the title, but I think it's kind of cool. The story line takes place in LA instead of the east coast and there is supposed to be no intermingling of characters, which I really appreciate.

It starts this summer...anyone planning on watching?

I was on the fence with the first episode because I was expecting something similar to The Walking Dead. The second episode was better. I will keep watching.

Maria, I wasn't a real big fan of the first episode, but I must say that it keeps getting better and better. I think as people start to realize that it's not TWD, they may start to enjoy it more. This week was great and next week looks awesome. It's driving me crazy that they don't realize how dangerous the "walkers" are and keep trying to ask them if they're OK. The main characters have come so close to being bit so many times it's driving me crazy! :-)
I'm not sure how sustainable this is as a series because at some point it has to catch up to TWD, but it's great to see the fresh zombies that are hard to kill. :-)

I did record this series, but I haven't gotten to watching it yet. I am a huge TWD fan, and have been looking forward to some back-story!

@Dianne W - I'm wondering if the writers for FTWD deliberately went for an approach that was different than TWD. It's like the two shows are opposite bookends on the same shelf but the characters still have to make difficult choices. The difference is how they get to those decisions and why.

Yes, some of the characters are more clueless or aggravating than others. Travis seems to have a permanent Valium fix. Where's the sense of urgency? I like the variety of zombie-to-be's. The pace is picking up.

@Deanna - The first two don't have much back story. Ep 3 is much better for that. It's not like TWD but still watchable.

Now that the first season is over, what do you think? The season finale was exciting! I'm glad they renewed it for another season and they will have talking fear the walking dead too!
