How involved are you in what your pre-teen and teens are reading? Do you help in the choosing of the books? What about the books they are assigned to read in school? Let me know if you read along with your teen. I'm also interested in your thoughts about today's Young Adult genre.
Here is another question for parents to ponder. When you were in school, did you read any books that now show up on some lists as being banned? For me it was: The Outsiders and Go Ask Alice.
Oh wow Chel, I have no idea! I know I saw a bit of drama with one school wanting to ban the Hunger Games books. The parents that I knew, who wanted the ban, hadn't actually read the books.
So now when I see a banned book list I think "hmmmmmm, which one should I read first?"
I am thinking ahead of article ideas. And, you know what, because there was so much drama about the Harry Potter series at one time, I read that series and FELL IN LOVE!
