The hummingbirds are here! The hummingbirds are here! Right on time! Last year they came on May Day, too  . They went right to the feeder!

Do you have to have red food for them? Will they drink it if it's clear?

You shouldn't feed hummingbirds red food dye - it's not necessary and it can hurt them. It's best just to give them sugar water. The red of the feeder will lure them in to it.

Love hummingbirds! We have mostly Anna's where I live, but I've seen black-chinned at my feeder as well.
