Most film music loses its emotional impact when it is separated from the images it is meant to accompany. Not so with the haunting soundtrack to the 1994 film "Before the Rain." Macedonian trio Anastasia composed the music for this film and it is one of my favorite world music CD's. A mix of traditional instruments and keyboards, the music is sometimes elegiac, sometimes majestic. Highly recommended.
