Yesterday it was mostly sunny.
It was windy off/on during the night.
The sun was almost completely up and it was also windy when I went to bed.
It was snowing and mostly cloudy when I got up.

At night it was windy on/off and snowing on/off.
It was windy and snowing when I went to bed.
It was mostly cloudy when I got up.

London, England. A clear but cold day tonight. Followed by a clear night. A lovely crescent Moon with earthshine after sunset plus an absolutely dazzling Venus. Later this evening Orion was very prominent in the sky. Although cold, it wasn't windy, so it was quite tolerable.

You described it perfectly. I'm in Chicago and all I can say is, "ditto", minus some of the astronomy sightings.

I made a mistake this morning. I thought it was only the snow being blowned away by the wind but there were snow in that so it was also snowing when I got up.
The snow tornadoes are back today, the wind also sculpted the snow in our backyard, it is like the sand dunes in deserts. It's actually beautiful, I should take pictures!

Nancy, it is expected to be 40 tomorrow and rainy. We won't have snow. I hope you and all the folks in the North East will be OK. The snowstorm is expected to be a lulu.

I agree, you should take pictures.
Snowed all day in Chicago & when it begin to lighten up, the temperatures began to drop.

Apparently here we are supposed to get warm weather so maybe it will rain again. It almost was -10 the last time I checked our thermometer, with all that really strong wind it is a miracle it is not colder than that! I think it has calmed down though, I do not hear it anymore  .
