Hi,
I meant to post about doing the Big Chop or more commonly known as the BC, back in June after a huge hair debacle which resulted in a lot of hair loss from medication.

I did end up wearing wigs for about six weeks until the bald spots grew back. :-) I'm happy to say, by using a series of products including castor oil, black Jamaican caster oil, it is definitely growing.

I'm determined to stay natural. Having my hair so short means that I actually spend more time on things like dressing more feminine, make-up..etc...it's sad the image we have of ourselves when things like this happen.

I'm still on my journey...we will see how this turns out.

I'm so happy, my hair has now grown long enough to actually create coils! :-) A great product is the Shea Moisture brand, it can be a little pricey $10 - $15, but Walgreens often has it on sale.

I've got a total regiment going now.

I do a apple cider vinegar rinse (actually I do it before I wash) one a month to get rid of build up. I smell like a salad for a minute, but it goes away quickly.

I made a oil mixture of olive, jojoba, vitamin e, castor oil and a couple of others I can't think of at the moment and use it on my hair after shampooing.

I'm actually having fun and being less of a product junkie.

Still working on my journey. With a perm, my hair was long enough to pull back, but the chop was starting all over again. As my hair is growing without being touched with relaxers or color (the no-color is kind of rough, too much grey for my liking), it's getting a little frustrating since it's not long enough to pull back, The problem is that it's no longer, what can be defined as a TWA, but it's not long enough for other styles so I'm struggling with finding styles for that in-between phase. I can see why some women revert back to chemicals, but I remain resilient to see this natural hair style through....grrr.
