Telling the truth, and living your truth is liberating. When we are strong enough in our-self it does not matter what other people think of us, as long as we are living in integrity and from our heart, we can be happy being who we are instead of trying to appease everyone else.

Would love to hear your experiences if you take me up on my invitation to spend a whole day telling the truth.

When I first became aware that I was not always honest it was really exciting to take time to consider what I really thought and how I was feeling, then finding ways to express that without upsetting anyone.

The Truth always hurts... especially with family members.

Unfortunately, I had to learn to shut my mouth because with two older brothers we would fight.

In striving for the truth... well, it kinda tore my family apart and the only peace that was found was after mum & dad passed.

Don't mean to be a wet hankie, but that was my experience.

Only when people a mature enough will they be able to take it on the chin.

I have met some, but my family was too entwined with itself and should have moved 6000 miles away from each other when we turned 21.

But alas, it didn't happen.

But, I'm still here and fairly cheerful.

I know what you mean, it's the hardest place to be honest within the family. So much history and expectations... Like you say, when other people mature enough they may be able to take the truth without feeling threatened.

There is always someone or some place that we find it impossible to be in our truth. I love where that can take us; the journey of trying to be honest highlights areas we may not have been aware of.

I remember my initial dance with truth telling and how much I compromised myself, however I made a conscious decision to make peace with it and accept that that is the way it is with them.
