Hello all Bardies,

Are you out there? Are you going to celebrate dear William in some way - 450 years have passed and we still speak Shakespeare thank heavens! There are huge and many celebrations of all sorts going on all over the world to mark this auspicious anniversary, so I thought we could join in here on the Container Gardening site.

Many words and phrases in our everyday English comes from Shakespeare, and I read of this one and thought it was good..

Portia, in the Merchant of Venice, is a rich heiress who disguises herself as a lawyer to save Antonio's life.

The word Portia, besides being a pretty girl's name, is now also a noun meaning a 'female lawyer.'

Someone was quick to write a bumper sticker: 'My other Lawyer's a Portia.' Smart don't you think?

So - let's think of some bumper stickers with a gardening theme, and I hope you will join in.

How about:

'Fred said roses are red. Who's Fred?' OR

'Daisy hasn't answered yet!' OR

'The grass is greener there. I painted it.'

Okay, now it's your turn.

Cheers
