Investors have many opportunities when choosing to invest $10,000. Stocks, bonds, and mutual funds are all possibilities. You can diversify into several investments or choose just one. Have you considered some of your options?

One good plan is to have both stocks and bonds in your portfolio. You can easily do this with $10,000. You may want to own more stocks than bonds right now. This is because interest rates are beginning to rise and that causes the price of bonds to drop. You still need bonds in a portfolio to be balanced, but can underweight them right now if you choose to do so.

I have a new eBook for 2014 that addresses these issues. Here is the link to it on Amazon: Investing $10K in 2014

Another option for investing $10,000 is a target-date fund. This allows you to invest in just one place. The fund will invest your money into stocks and bonds according to a chosen date. This date is usually your planned retirement date. As you get closer to this date, the fund will move more money to bonds for more stability.

Have you invested in one of these funds?
