OK really sleepy, just won't get the First Two Weeks Low Carb Reference book finished tonight. I'll aim for midday tomorrow smile. It's pretty much set at this point but I want to do a final readthrough. It's up to 230 pages now, so I want to make sure it's just right before publishing.

What are you guys working on?

Hi Lisa,

That sounds like a great book project for you. Did this book come from your posts in your Low Carb section, or is it a compilation of your other books?

I am working on several new articles for a series for my nonfiction writing section.

I am also outlining a book, and have been writing some posts I've written for my new blog.

Then I will tackle all the great information you have given us on social media and start marketing my new articles here as well as my blog posts.

I hope you get your book done when you would like it to be done.

Have a great week,

Bluedolphin

Bluedolphin -

My ebooks are pretty much always compilations of what I write for the site. That way the work both builds a fan base and also earns money. It's an optimal use of time. I then use the online articles to help drive sales of the ebook version.

I now have all four of the previously published ones revised for 2014 - the carb charts, quick no-cook recipes, microwave recipes, and first two weeks.

Next I put live the stovetop cookbook. That was just done this past weekend.

Today I'm going to put live the baking cookbook. That will then cover most bases for cookbooks. I do want to do a grilling one and a smoothies one, but I'll need more recipes to get those going. So I'll work on those articles in the coming weeks.

Next up is a book on low carb beer reviews. I have that done for BellaOnline, but I need to revise it with up to date data before I launch it to the larger world.

What are you guys writing?

Hello,

Today I’m making some progess on my first ebook. My writing was affected by a massive stroke many years ago. I am hoping to find others to talk with about the writing, so I can stay focused and on track with my writing projects. Having others actively interested in the projects who give feedback is almost a necessity for me. The interaction with others is part of what nurtures the writing along.

Lisa, how many ebooks have you published? Can you send me a link to them? I will look up your section here also.

Hi Bluedolphin, - - Thanks for the welcome! I have several ebooks in progress. My own ability to stay focused and complete them seems tied to being connected to other writers and having the conversation and feedback that nurture a project along. The brain injuries triggered the language and writing impairment, but no longer are what limit me. - - It's the interaction with others who can stay focused that helps keep me on track. The interaction is a form of practice which we will internalize over time until it becomes our habit when writing on our own. Does that make sense to you? - - I have lurked on this forum since before you took it over. Last night just seemed the right time to jump in. My ebooks will be on various aspects of health and nutrition, some on my own recovery. I am passionate over approaching and writing about health issues in ways that empower ourselves and lead to healing rather than chronic illness. - - My current project is on overcoming paralysis and uncontrollable seizures-a set of essays, not too long. The focus is on why we should err on the side of hope, learning to empower ourselves. - - If I join up here to write on health and nutrition issues, I may want to temporarily set that aside to finish another I started on how to manage the many side effects of seizure medications and one on alternative approaches to managing seizure disorders. There are more started, about various health issues. However, I need to be connected with others to further develop them at this time. - - What I need is encouragement and feedback on my writing to stay on track and get my projects developed and completed. I don't want to go into too many details here-or you'll get a full e-book instead of a message! - - I am thinking it might be a good opportunity for me to apply for a section here and get the assistance I need to further develop my skills in writing articles, ebooks, and maintaining a section. Where I fail doing this on my own is not having others to sound out ideas with so they can develop, or be discarded if not useful. Without this feedback, I just get overloaded with information I cannot easily sort through talking only to myself. - - I would like to have a section on something like epilepsy, which I've published a number of articles about, or other health and nutrition issues, like links between diet and autism as well as other disorders, or the health benefits of fermented foods. - -Do you have time to look over my blog, read the essay about when I had the massive stroke, a few of the other articles and give me a little feedback? Before completing the application for a section here, is there anyone I can speak\write to about how the strokes affected my writing and how to work with it and succeed? Thanks again for your welcome! Zoe

Hi Zoe,

Regarding "why don't the paragraph and line breaks show?," many months ago on my thread "Random Thoughts" as at that time I was experiencing the same problem, I suggested to Lisa Shea, the owner of BellaOnline, that perhaps somehow when the forum personal mail system was disabled for new members that it also affected their access to the full reply screen which also includes the ability to bold, italicize, and underline, among other functions. She said that was possibly the inadvertent result of when she coded the forum mail system to deny access to newbies and would look into it.

I have not seen or heard anything since then about this issue, but I believe that is what happened. Once you get full access to the mail system, the problem should be resolved; I am not sure how long that takes as I believe it is dependent upon one reaching a certain number of posts. Anybody know if this is indeed the case?

Welcome to BellaOnline and hope all goes well with your writing endeavors,
Les

Hi Les, Full Reply mode is what i used for the post. I did about five edits, trying to double space for paragraph breaks, using a hyphen to try and insert paragraphs and nothing worked. I hope someone ha an answer for this.

Hi Zoe,

I am sure that is because of your "newbie" status you cannot utilize the functions of the full reply screen. If I remember correctly, Lisa Shea wanted to prevent new members from being able to spam on the member mail system and, somehow, the full reply screen must have been coded out by mistake.

Les
