This past spring my daughter and I went to the library to work on a presentation she was doing on Argentina. While we were there we heard that a quartet was going to perform so we went to the concert. As it turned out they played Astor Piazzolla’s “Four for Tango.”

Before playing the piece one of the musicians explained that Argentina is the birthplace of the Tango. So my daughter was able to include this information in her presentation for school.

From Wikipedia: “The tango is a partner dance that originated in the 1890s along the Río de la Plata, the natural border between Argentina and Uruguay, and soon spread to the rest of the world.[2]”

Hi Leah,

That was indeed serendipity! I adore tango. Check out this one on youtube. This is a basic argentino tango, very beautiful, but very precise.

There is also a good video here of a more natural and passionate:

Who knew Banderas is such a natural dancer? I could watch all day!

I have a distant cousin (connected with him on FB) who lives in Argentina. He often sends out invitations for Tango events. smile Tango is very popular.
